A report from ESPN.com writer Jerry Crasnick says the Arizona Diamondbacks have contacted the Philadelphia Phillies and expressed their interest in acquiring starting pitcher Cole Hamels.
Now before you get too confused, excited or emotional in any sense D-Backs fans, it's worth noting that Arizona is on Hamels no-trade list.
With that said though, for the D-Backs it can't hurt to at least ask the Phillies what they're looking for and open a dialogue.
Hamels is 6-7 with a 3.64 ERA this season. He just threw a no-hitter against the Cubs Saturday.
