Wish to see D-backs play in World Series granted for 2 teenagers

The organization is flying two teenagers to the Valley to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks play at Chase Field.

PHOENIX — Make-a-Wish Arizona has arranged for two teenagers to fly out to the Valley this week and watch the Arizona Diamondbacks play during the World Series.

Jesse, a 17-year-old from Missouri who's been battling cancer, and Benjamin, a 17-year-old from Wisconsin who lives with a muscular disorder, have both been granted their wish to attend the 2023 World Series.

The two teenagers will watch the D-backs and Texas Rangers compete in games 3 and 4 at Chase Field.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer Jesse and Ben this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Fran Mallace, president and CEO for Make-A-Wish Arizona. "Their personal journeys and the impact of a wish is truly inspiring."

The Make-a-Wish Foundation originated in Phoenix back in 1980 after a 7-year-old with leukemia was granted his wish to be a police officer for a day.
