Preparing for NLCS Game 5? What to know before you go

After yet another win at home, the D-backs take on the Phillies one last time at Chase Field Saturday night.

PHOENIX — The National League Championship Series is tied 2-2 and the Diamondbacks have one more game on home turf. The Diamondbacks take on the Phillies at Chase Field on Saturday, with both the crowd and the ball players hoping for a sweep.

In case you missed last night’s game, it was another nail biter. The Diamondbacks trailed the Phillies all the way to the eighth inning. Then, the team seemed to embrace their motto of “embracing the chaos,” because D-backs outfielder Alek Thomas hit a pinch-hit two-run home run into the famous Chase Field pool to tie the game.

An RBI single from rookie catcher Gabriel Moreno would give the Serpentines a 6-5 lead and closing pitcher Paul Sewald ended the game without giving up a run. The Diamondbacks beat the Phillies 6-5, much to fans' delight.

Heading to Saturday’s game? Here’s what you need to know.

What happens now that the series is tied?

Thanks to the Game Four win over the Phillies, the D-backs have ensured that the NLCS will go at least six games, which means the D-backs will be heading back to Philadelphia for at least one game.

Zac Gallen will get the start for the D-backs against Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler in a rematch from Game One.

Tickets

If you want to see the Serpentines attempt to keep the momentum going in-person at Chase Field, act quickly. Both Thursday and Friday’s games were sold out and Saturday’s game appears to be heading in the same direction.
