PHOENIX - Pinnacle is led by one of the most exciting quarterback prospects in the state, and he's only a sophomore.
Spencer Rattler is in his second year as the starting quarterback of the Pioneers, he threw for almost 2,400 yards last year starting with the varsity team as a freshman.
This year, he's thrown for 2,037 yards and still has two more games to play.
Rattler had some big shoes to fill at Pinnacle, as he replaced current Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke.
And Rattler has lived up to the hype.
"I think last year it was a lot of moxie, and just instinct," said Pinnacle head coach Dana Zupke. "You're really starting to see a kid grow and be more cerebral as a quarterback."
"He's incredibly accurate," Zupke continued. "He puts balls on shoulders. Back shoulder, front shoulder, inside, outside, it's intentional when he does it. It's not luck. It happens too often."
Rattler hasn't just turned heads in Arizona, as the quarterback is garnering buzz on the collegiate recruiting trail as well.
He currently has offers from Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State and Memphis to name a few schools.
For now though, Rattler is focused on finishing his sophomore season strong.
