PHOENIX — The votes are in for the Friday Night Fever Sweet Play of the Week poll for Week 2 of the 2024 season!
Every week on Friday Night Fever, we will show you the top three plays from that week in high school football, which we call "Sweet Plays". Then it will be time for you to go online to 12News.com/Fever and vote for your favorite to become the Sweet Play of the Week!
At the end of the season, all of the weekly winners will contend for a $5,000 scholarship, courtesy of Sweet James Accident Attorneys.
This week, there with 27,737 votes with the 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by ALA-Queen Creek's RJ Lopez Jr. emerging as the winner with 90.4 percent of the votes (25,077 votes).
That play will now join the touchdown pass from Red Mountain QB Simon Lopez to WR Tyreke Cornett took home the title as a weekly winner who will compete for the scholarship at the end of the year.
