3 more plays are competing to see which one will advance to compete for a $5,000 scholarship, courtesy of Sweet James Accident Attorneys.

PHOENIX — UPDATE: NOV. 1, 2024 

The votes have been counted and it is now time to reveal the winner of the Friday Night Fever Week 9 Sweet Play of the Week poll! 

This week, we got a total of 35,127 votes, and the winner with 54% (18,966 votes) is the game-winning field goal by Horizon High School's Palmer Podwika! 

The leaping touchdown catch by Arcadia High School's Ian Slater finished in second place with 45.8% (16,101 votes) and the scrambling touchdown run by Queen Creek High School's Tait Reynolds finished in third place with 0.2% (60 votes).

Congratulations to Podwika! His kick will now advance to compete for a $5,000 scholarship against all the other weekly winners at the end of the season!

Week 3: Blocked field goal that was returned for a 90-yard touchdown by Benjamin Franklin's Talan Speir  

Week 2: 87-yard kickoff return by ALA-Queen Creek's RJ Lopez Jr.  

Week 1: Touchdown pass from Red Mountain QB Simon Lopez to WR Tyreke Cornett

We are now a week closer to the high school football playoffs in Arizona now that Week 9 of the 35th season of Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show, has come to a close. 

Every week on FNF, Cameron Cox shows you the top three plays from that week in high school football, which we call "Sweet Plays." After that, it is up to you, the fans, to go online to 12News.com/Fever and vote for your favorite play to become the Sweet Play of the Week! 

At the end of the season, all of the weekly winners will contend for a $5,000 scholarship, courtesy of Sweet James Accident Attorneys.
