PHOENIX — The playoffs are now underway in all of Arizona's high school football conferences — the playoffs begin for the Open Division next week — here in the 35th season of Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show.
In this article, we will show you the results of the first round of the 6A playoffs and preview the matchups for the quarterfinals.
6A Playoffs First Round Results
- No. 1 Brophy Prep defeated No. 16 Boulder Creek, 54-0
- No. 2 Queen Creek defeated No. 15 Sandra Day O'Connor, 42-28
- No. 14 Centennial upset No. 3 Red Mountain, 21-7
- No. 4 Mountain View defeated No. 13 Cesar Chavez, 52-7
- No. 5 Salpointe Catholic defeated No. 12 Williams Field, 31-28
- No. 11 Casteel upset No. 6 Highland, 29-27
- No. 7 Pinnacle defeated No. 10 Mountain Pointe, 46-7
- No. 8 Perry defeated No. 9 Chandler, 27-24
6A Playoffs Quarterfinal Matchups
- No. 1 Brophy Prep vs. No. 8 Perry
- No. 2 Queen Creek vs. No. 7 Pinnacle
- No. 14 Centennial vs. No. 11 Casteel
- No. 4 Mountain View vs. No. 5 Salpointe Catholic

The four quarterfinal games will be played on Friday, Nov. 22 and each game will be hosted by the higher-seeded school.
The 6A State Championship Game will be played at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Arizona State University's Mountain America Stadium in Tempe.
There will be a new state champion in 6A this year as last year's state champion, Saguaro, did not qualify for the playoffs this year.
