The quarterfinals of the 2A high school football playoffs are complete. Here's a look at the matchups in the semifinals.

The first round of the 2024 2A high school football playoffs featured some big upsets. Here's a look at the updated bracket.

PHOENIX — The final whistle has blown on another week of playoff football on Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show. 

On Friday night, the playoffs began in 6A, 5A and 4A and continued with the quarterfinals in 3A and 2A. The playoffs begin for the Open Division next week and the 1A state champion will be crowned on Saturday.  

In this article, we'll take a look at the results from the quarterfinals of the 2A playoffs and preview the matchups for the semifinals. 

2A Playoffs Quarterfinal Scores

  • No. 1 San Tan Charter defeated No. 8 Scottsdale Prep, 30-12
  • No. 2 Tonopah Valley defeated No. 7 Arizona Lutheran, 56-30
  • No. 3 Pima defeated No. 6 Bisbee, 38-22
  • No. 12 Scottsdale Christian defeated No. 13 Veritas Prep, 26-24

2A Playoffs Semifinal Matchups

  • No. 1 San Tan Charter vs. No. 12 Scottsdale Christian 
  • No. 2 Tonopah Valley vs. No. 3 Pima

The updated bracket is below.

No. 1 San Tan Charter will face No. 12 Scottsdale Christian and No. 3 Pima will face No. 2 Tonopah Valley in the 2A semifinals.

The two semifinal games will be played on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Westwood High School in Mesa.  

The 2A State Championship Game will be played at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale. The game had previously been scheduled to be played at Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee but had to be moved due to a conflict with the Open Division semifinals. 

Scottsdale Christian is looking to defend their 2A title after defeating Pima in the championship in 2023.
