AVONDALE, Ariz. — The countdown is on to NASCAR weekend at Phoenix Raceway. Fans are amped to see their favorite drivers, eat tons of food and enjoy entertainment all weekend.
This is the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship, where fans will cheer on competitors fighting for victory in the desert.
The excitement of the action on track is unmatched which is why so many people camp out days in advance to get the full experience!
Fans plan for the event all year.
36 drivers over 36 weeks going wheels out for the chance at the coveted cup. People are ready to fill the stands on Sunday.
The family-friendly event draws huge crowds.
Walmart has even set up a pop-up shop at the GEICO Gecko Campground to accommodate the attendees. They even have pet supplies and coffee creamer for those who might’ve forgotten it at home.
"We have a wide variety of beverages, food and other essentials. We have expanded or offering and really feel like we have everything our fam want or would need,” said Amanda DuBose, senior manager and community relations for the company.

The city of Phoenix is home to five major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks and NHL's Arizona Coyotes.
The Cardinals have made the State Farm Stadium in Glendale their home turf and the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix is home to both the Suns and the Mercury. The Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers also play at the Footprint. Phoenix has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC.
