TUCSON, Ariz. — Attention college sports fans... it's almost time for the 2023 Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl!

The Toledo Rockets from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Wyoming Cowboys from the Mountain West Conference (MWC) will meet in the Arizona Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Arizona Stadium in Tucson.

The Arizona Bowl started in 2015 as one of three newly sanctioned bowl games by the NCAA. In 2021, Barstool Sports was announced as the game’s new title sponsor.

Heading to Tucson to take on all of the postseason fun? Here’s what you need to know.

Matchup

Wyoming (8-4, 5-3 MWC) is in the Arizona Bowl for the second straight season and third time overall. The Cowboys lost to Ohio in last year's Arizona Bowl and beat Georgia State in the 2019 Arizona Bowl.  The Cowboys are 9-9 all-time in bowl games. Their last win came in 2021 when Wyoming beat Kent State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Toledo (11-2, 8-0 MAC) lost their first game of the season against Illinois but responded by winning 11 games in a row before falling to Miami (Ohio) in the MAC Championship game.  Toledo is 11-9 all-time in bowl games with their last win coming in the 2022 Boca Raton Bowl where the Rockets beat Liberty, 21-19.

This will be the third game ever between Toledo and Wyoming. They have split the previous two meetings with each team winning on the road. Wyoming beat Toledo in Toledo, Ohio in 2010 and Toledo beat Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming in 2012.
