Staying in and watching shows together is a favorite date night for almost three-quarters of couples, according to a new Netflix study.

The study, which was conducted last fall, focused on what Americans' viewing habits say about their romantic relationships.

Sharing Netflix passwords is a big step in a relationship, and more than half of respondents said they waited until they were dating exclusively to give away that type of access. Some people are even more reserved -- 17 percent said they would wait to be engaged or married.

Here are some other key points hit in the study:

-23 percent say show compatibility is important
-72 percent say "Netflixing" is one of their favorite ways to spend a date night (no word on if they also "chilled")
-58 percent of respondents have added shows or movies to their dating profile
-25 percent say they've fond someone more attractive because of the shows they watch.
