Dorothy, Toto and the whole gang are back on TV with "The Wiz Live!" It's a live version of the hit Broadway show and movie, an urban version of "The Wizard of Oz."
And in this version, Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North, is played by Amber Riley.
"The music is so great and the role is so amazing," Riley said about a role that's not too far off from some of her others. You might remember her singing her heart out on "Glee" and dancing her socks off on "Dancing with the Stars."
"They called me and asked me if I wanted to play Addaperle," Riley said, "and I said absolutely. Yes, that's amazing."
The elaborate sets and the vibrant costumes are also amazing. And the message in this musical stands the test of time.
"I think the theme of finding your place in life, of home -- that whole entire theme doesn't change through time," Riley said. "Everyone is trying to find their place in life and who they are."
