Make-A-Wish Arizona is a non-profit whose mission is to grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The wonderful organization who has made many wishes come true for many kids is in need of bilingual volunteers.
"More Hispanic families are learning about the organization and being referred to Make-A-Wish Arizona to have a kid's wish granted," said Norma Gioia in an email, who is with Make-A-Wish Arizona.
Norma says that due to the lack of bilingual volunteers, Hispanic families tend to wait longer for their kid's wish to be granted.
Usually, the timeframe for a wish to be granted is between 60 to 90 days without a language barrier. When there is a language barrier, Spanish-speaking families have to wait longer for a bilingual volunteer to become available.
"Right now, about 36 percent of the families that Make-A-Wish Arizona are Hispanic," said Norma.
People can sign up at arizona.wish.org/volunteer to volunteer, but are required to be 21 and older.
At the moment, the organization are looking for as many bilingual volunteers as possible.
