How to stay hydrated with 'magic' Chia seeds

Chia seeds have been around for awhile, dating back to Mayan and Aztec cultures.

They are grown in Mexico -- where my mother is from.

My mother would always put Chia seeds in my chocolate milk almost every night before bedtime. She would call them "magic" seeds.

You can put them in basically anything like, cereal, pudding, oatmeal, smoothies -- you name it.

These seeds are supposed to help you lose weight. They are filled with antioxidants, fiber, calcium and more.

I don't use them to lose weight, I use them to keep hydrated and especially in scorching temperatures like Arizona's heat.

Have you ever wondered why Chia seeds have a gooey taste when you put them in liquids?

They absorb at least 10 or more times its water weight-- it's interesting.

Arizona is hot! So, I recommend putting 1/2 teaspoon of Chia seeds everyday or your personal preference in a 16-ounce water bottle.

You will definitely feel hydrated throughout the day. Of course, remember to take your 8 glasses of water a day.

Here's my recipe for my everyday Chia seed water:

1. Get a 16-ounce water bottle (any size water bottle will do fine)

2. Put 1/2 teaspoon of Chia seeds into water bottle

3. Squeeze half of a lemon into water bottle (any amount of lemon will do)

4. Shake up and leave overnight in the refrigerator

5. Enjoy the next day!

You can prep more than one water bottle at a time. Remember this is just an opinion and it might not be suitable for all.
