A vortex measuring eight feet across has formed on Lake Texoma on the Texas-Oklahoma border.
It formed after engineers opened the floodgates of the Denison Dam to drain flood water from past storms.
A video of the vortex was posted by the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Tulsa District on June 5.
According to the Weather Channel, the floodgates will remain open until the end of July when the lake reaches normal levels.
Naturally, the area around the vortex is off-limits to boats.
