Talking Stick Resort reopens after significant monsoon storm damage

While the casino was closed, Talking Stick says it completed major renovations. The renovations included new flooring, wallpaper and refelting blackjack tables.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - After a major monsoon storm damaged Talking Stick Resort, the casino property is finally reopening Monday.

The popular casino-resort says it had 300 people working around-the-clock to get Talking Stick back up and running. For weeks, the casino, slots and tables were shut down and quiet.

A spokesperson says the fourth of three major monsoon storms was too much for the property to handle.

The major damage was on the first floor and basement where all of the power is located, and it took a month and a half to fix everything and reopen doors.

While the casino was closed, Talking Stick says it completed major renovations. The renovations included new flooring, wallpaper and refelting blackjack tables.

The reopening is scheduled just in time for the debut of the Fall Concert Series on Sunday, Sept. 30.

The hotel portion says it'll start accepting reservations beginning on Sept. 30, as well.
