WILLIAMS, Ariz. — First responders in Williams are working to recover the body of a kayaker who disappeared under the water at Dogtown Lake after his kayak capsized, the Williams Police Department said.
First responders arrived at the lake after a 911 call at around 11 a.m. Friday morning.

Witnesses said a "sudden gust of wind" caused the kayak to capsize.
"The witness bravely swam towards the distressed kayaker in an attempt to help, but unfortunately, the individual disappeared beneath the surface before he could be reached," police said.
Crews Williams PD along with Williams Fire Department, Lifeline Ambulance, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Coconino County Search and Rescue Team are all on the lake working to recover the man, police said.
The man's kayak has been recovered but crews have yet to find the man's body.
Police said the man's identity will be released after his next of kin has been notified.
Efforts to find the body have stopped for the evening. They will resume in the morning with Maricopa County Search and Rescue will deploy a specialized dive team and underwater robot being brought in to aid in the search.
This is a developing story; additional details will be added as they become available.
