Runner rescued after falling into Cave Creek mine shaft

The woman's dad became worried when he hadn't heard from her after she went out for a run.

CAVE CREEK, Ariz. — A woman who fell into a mine shaft while out for a run north of Phoenix has been rescued.

Authorities said Monday 40-year-old Alicia Judy of Scottsdale appeared to have no serious injuries after being pulled from the abandoned mine overnight in Cave Creek.

Judy said she went for a run Sunday and got lost. She then came across the mine shaft and fell 20 feet.
