Meghan McCain said she may be taking time off from "The View" to spend time with her family following her senator father's surgery.
The talk show co-host assured viewers that if she's not on the show in the upcoming days, she is just "hanging out" with her dad and her mom.
She also took time on air Monday to thank her father's doctors and nurses. Sen. John McCain, who is battling brain cancer, underwent surgery due to an intestinal infection last week.
A tweet from Cindy McCain Monday said John was back home, out of the hospital.
"My dad's doing well," Meghan said on "The View." "I want to thank everyone at Mayo Clinic, especially his doctors and nurses. I think it just takes a really special person to become a doctor or a nurse because I could never do it and it's a really amazing thing."

Meghan has talked openly about her father's health since joining "The View." Sen. McCain was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor called glioblastoma last summer.
In November, Meghan married conservative pundit Ben Domenech at her family's ranch in Sedona. She said the wedding happened quickly, just weeks after a proposal at the Mayo Clinic.
"We were at Mayo Clinic and my father had his scan," Meghan told People magazine. "And we got engaged because we decided to sort of celebrate life and celebrate being alive."
