Why is Trump's name near the bottom of ballots in Arizona?

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer explains.

PHOENIX — Voters in Arizona had the opportunity to cast ballots Tuesday in the state's Presidential Preference Election.

But one voter pointed out the order of names on their Republican ballot and asked why former President Donald Trump's name was near last on the list.

Trump is expected to win his race in Arizona after securing enough delegate support in other states to become his party’s presumptive nominee.

The answer, according to Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, is a lotto-ball drawing.

Richer responded to the person's post on X saying the positions on the ballot were selected weeks ago by Arizona's Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. Every Republican ballot in the state has the same order.
