PHOENIX - Maricopa County submitted an estimated 36,000 counted ballots Sunday and Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema's lead has grown again over Republican candidate Martha McSally.
Prior to Maricopa County's ballot drop around 5 p.m., Sinema led by 30,416 votes. She led by 32,640 votes following Maricopa's drop.
Around 6 p.m., Pinal County submitted counted ballots to the state and McSally gained about 400 votes. Yavapai County posted to the state just before 8 p.m. and Sinema's lead is now 32,169 votes.
The long process of counting the ballots has delayed either party from declaring victory in the contested Senate race between Democrat Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Martha McSally.
About 162,000 ballots still need to be tabulated in Maricopa County.
After Sinema took a pretty sizable advantage from Saturday ballot dumps, her lead continues to grow.
Coconino County posted results from 1,324 ballots Sunday morning giving Sinema a 0.02 percentage point gain, or a 30,310-vote lead over her Republican opponent.
Sinema took a 28,688-vote lead Sunday after Maricopa, Pima and Coconino counties posted results to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office.
Prior to the weekend, Sinema was leading by 21,000 votes.
County election offices will continue to count ballots the next couple of days. On Friday, a judge gave county election officials until Nov. 14 to report votes to the state after the Arizona GOP filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the two largest and urban counties from taking the days-long process of verifying signatures on early and provisional ballots.
