PHOENIX — President Joe Biden will be visiting Arizona less than two weeks ahead of the Nov. 5 General Election, the White House announced.

Biden is expected to arrive in Phoenix on Oct. 24. On Oct, 25, Biden will visit the Gila River Indian Community and is expected to discuss his administration's track records with Tribal communities.

It will be his first such visit, according to the White House.

The president will then leave for Delaware on Friday evening.

In Arizona, Biden defeated former president Donald Trump by just 10,457 votes in 2020, a narrow margin that set off years of misinformation and conspiracy theories among Republicans who refused to acknowledge Biden's win. It also has led to threats and harassment of election workers, prompting some election offices to boost security for their workers and polling place volunteers.

Arizona's recent status as a battleground state has prompted several visits from both the Trump and Harris campaigns as the election draws closer. Trump and Harris were both recently in Arizona for respective campaign events.
