PHOENIX — Vice President Kamala Harris will campaign in Arizona on Friday, marking the Democratic presidential nominee’s second visit to the battleground state in two months and coming just 12 days before early ballots are mailed to voters statewide.
Harris is embarking on a three-state swing through key states this week, according to her campaign: Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Arizona on Friday, then Nevada on Saturday.
The Arizona location hasn’t been announced.

Harris' campaign trip to the state in August, with vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz, drew 15,000 people to Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. It was the largest crowd at an Arizona Democratic event in at least 20 years.
This week’s campaign itinerary follows Harris' stops last week in all three so-called “Blue Wall” states - Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin - plus Georgia. Harris victories in the Blue Wall states would give her the electoral college votes she needs to win the White House.
“This travel reflects the many paths to 270 electoral votes that Vice President Harris has available – hitting both “Blue Wall” and Sun Belt states,” the Harris campaign said in a prepared statement.
Republican Donald Trump’s campaign is traveling in the Blue Wall states this week.
On Monday, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Indiana, Pa., 50 miles from the site of an assassination attempt in July. The campaign also plans to hold two events Friday in Michigan.
Trump is holding far fewer rallies this year, compared to his past two runs for president, according to an Axios report.
On Saturday, Trump rejected a second televised debate with Harris in October after she had accepted CNN’s offer.
An NBC News poll released Sunday shows Harris with a 5-point lead over former President Donald Trump among registered voters, 49% to 44%. The result falls within the poll’s margin of error but reflects a significant turnaround from a July poll when President Joe Biden was still in the race. In that survey, Trump was ahead of Biden by 2 points.
The most recent polling in Arizona shows the presidential race is a toss-up.
In 2020, Biden defeated Trump in Arizona by 10,457 votes - three-tenths of a percentage point. Biden was only the second Democratic presidential nominee to win the state in 72 years.
Early ballots will be mailed to Arizona voters on Oct. 9.
