PHOENIX — On Monday, Arizona's top officials certified the state’s election results.
The certification included two new voter-approved laws: Proposition 139 and Proposition 314.

Prop 139, or the Arizona Abortion Access Act, protects the right to abortion in the state constitution. Prop 314, the Secure the Border Act, would allow local law enforcement officers to arrest border crossers.
State officials and law enforcement were gearing up for a potentially volatile end to the election. That never happened.
Gov. Katie Hobbs contrasted Monday’s statewide canvass of election results with the one four years ago, which she said was held against the backdrop of “raging conspiracies, attempts to stop certification across the country,” leading to the Jan. 6 insurrection. She said she was grateful this time was different.
"I'm incredibly hopeful that this ministerial but important function can, I'm hopeful we can return to that sense of normalcy," said Hobbs.
Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said voters across the state cast 3,428,011 ballots in the 2024 election, up 7,446 ballots from 2020.
The turnout of registered voters remained relatively unchanged, at just below 80%. Turnout was 79% for the 2020 election and 78% for the 2022 election.
