QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — A photo posted in a Queen Creek community group says it shows a box of ballots left in a convertible car in a parking lot. Officials say that's not the case.
The post said the "ballots were in white USPS envelopes, not the green or yellow ones" and they had the "official election mail stamp."

Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice said the box in the photo does not contain election ballots.
"We are aware of a post circulating on social media claiming to show a vehicle with a box of ballots," Brice told 12News. "At this point in the investigation, we have found that no crime has been committed. The materials shown were not ballots."
Brice thanked the community member who brought the situation to their attention and said a post on social media "is not reporting to law enforcement."
"We need the public to report incidents to the police so they may be properly investigated," Brice said.
