Kate Gallego wins reelection with more than 60% of the vote

Gallego will be sworn into her final four-year term in April of 2025.

PHOENIX — Kate Gallego has been re-elected as mayor of Phoenix for the third time.

According to election results from Maricopa County, Gallego received 191,242 votes or about 64.27% of the overall vote. Her opponent, Matt Evans, received 106,333 votes or approximately 35.73% of the vote.

This will be Gallego's final term in office and she will serve in the role through spring of 2029. 

“Over the last five years, we’ve created jobs that lift families, invested in our long-term water supply and made our city even safer,” Gallego said in a news release.  “I’m incredibly grateful that Phoenix voters have elected me to serve a final term as mayor, and I look forward to continuing to build a future that works for everyone.”

Gallego is the second elected female mayor in Phoenix history as well as one of the youngest city mayors in the country.
