Arizona polls have closed. Latest results in key races.

Voters in Arizona to decide on Abortion, border enforcement and wages for tipped workers.
Maricopa County officials outlined their plans to be sure election workers are protected this election season.

PHOENIX — Arizona voters headed to the polls to vote for the next president, senate and several propositions on key issues.

President of the United States

Voters cast their ballots for either Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris or Republican former president Donald Trump.

Both Trump and Harris made several trips to Arizona ahead of the election in an attempt to sway voters in the battleground state.

Senate

Voters will decide who will head to the United States Senate to replace Kyrsten Sinema who decided not to seek re-election.

Republican Kari Lake is running against Democratic Congressman Ruben Gallego.

U.S. House District 1

Incumbent Rep. David Schweikert and former Rep. Amish Shah are running to represent Arizona's 1st Congressional District, an area that stretches across much of Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills.

Proposition 139

Proposition 139, known as the "Right to Abortion Initiative," would amend the state constitution in Arizona and establish that every person in Arizona has the "fundamental right to abortion." It would also establish that the state of Arizona is not allowed to interfere with that right to abortion before the point of "fetal viability," Ballotpedia explains.

Proposition 314

Dubbed the "Secure the Border Act," Proposition 314 would allow local law enforcement officers to arrest anyone who is seen crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona, allow state judges to order deportations, increase the penalties for submitting false documents when trying to show eligibility for employment or applying for public benefits and increase the penalty for knowingly selling fentanyl, which leads to the death of someone who takes it, among other actions.

Proposition 138

Proposition 138 is the "Wages for Tipped Workers Amendment." It is a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, according to Ballotpedia.

The amendment, if passed, would allow employers to pay tipped workers 25% less per hour than the minimum wage if the employee received more than minimum wage plus $2 per hour worked in tips. That would be $10.77 per hour.

Current law states that tipped employees make $11.35 per hour.

Maricopa County Sheriff

The race for Maricopa County Sheriff is between Democratic candidate Tyler Kamp and Republican candidate Jerry Sheridan.

Previously, Democrat Paul Penzone held the position, but he resigned in 2023. Current Maricopa County Sheriff Russ Skinner took the position in February of 2024 and ran for re-election, but lost the Democratic primary to Kamp.
