PHOENIX — In their final push ahead of Election Day, Arizona Democrats held a show at the famous Celebrity Theater in Phoenix.
The event was filled with live music performances and prominent politicians within the party taking the stage encouraging people to get out and vote.
“One day Arizona, one day until we make history,” said Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rueben Gallego.
In what is expected to be his final campaign speech before polls close, Gallego addressed supporters. He advocated for all Arizonans and said he would represent everyone despite political affiliation.
"We want to defend our freedoms including rights to an abortion," Gallego said. "We have to take care of our seniors and our veterans and we want to give our kids the best possible future they could ever have.”
Other speakers included U.S. Senator Mark Kelley, former congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Congressman Greg Stanton, Governor Katie Hobbs and several democratic congressional candidates. Republican mayor of Mesa John Giles also took the stage and said he would cast his vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Speakers focused on the issues that democrats have discussed since the election cycle began. Including abortion access, water security and climate change.
"Kamala Harris will cut taxes for the middle class and lower the cost of groceries, housing and prescription drugs," Sen. Kelley said.
Many in attendance told 12News they had already casted their ballot and were attending the event to get excited for Election Day. Speakers addressed this and encouraged voters to reach out to friends, family, and neighbors to head to the polls Tuesday. Knowing each vote in this election will make the difference.
