The Senate Republicans claim the video is from June 15 and alleged the subject in the video is the same person who's been charged this week with allegedly stealing a key fob from the Maricopa County Elections Building. Arizona Department of Public Safety officials confirmed that Thursday when they officially identified Walter Ringfield, 27, as the person in the video. Ringfield faces felony criminal damage and misdemeanor theft charges.

DPS officials said they received a report on June 19 about a theft at the Senate building involving a suspect who allegedly stole challenge coins and desk accessories from a security staff member’s desk.

Ringfield's residence in Phoenix was searched and the stolen items were allegedly recovered, DPS said.

Ringfield will be back in court on June 27 for a status conference hearing. He's been held without bond inside the Maricopa County Jail because of a prior case where he's accused of stealing $1,800 from a previous employer.
