Arizona is one of the 36 states holding an election for governor today. Current Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, looks to win another term and is facing Democrat David Garcia.
Gov. Ducey was elected as Arizona's governor in 2014. Part of his original campaign was about how he could improve the economy with his background as a businessman.

David Garcia is a professor at Arizona State University who ran for superintendent in 2014 and was defeated by Diane Douglas. If elected, Garcia would be the first Latino to serve as governor in the last four decades.
In mid-October, reports came out of Gov. Ducey's campaign outspending Garcia's at an enormous rate.
Gov. Ducey has been in control throughout the race in terms of poll numbers and the latest Emerson poll from Monday showed he had a 15-point lead over Garcia.
