Combat Action Badge awarded to members of Arizona's National Guard after Jordan drone attack

The award is given to Army soldiers for being present and actively engaging, or being engaged by enemies.

PHOENIX — Several soldiers with the Arizona National Guard who were injured in an attack in Jordan are being honored for their bravery.

The soldiers were awarded the Combat Action Badge. The award is given to Army soldiers for being present and actively engaging, or being engaged by enemies.

Roughly 40 members of Arizona's National Guard were among those injured in a drone attack in late January, near the Syrian border of Jordan.

12News has been told the majority of the soldiers injured in the strike have since returned to duty. 

A soldier who was receiving treatment in Germany has returned to the United States.
