SNL mocks outrage with "The Day Beyonce Turned Black"

Just after Melissa McCarthy finished her opening monologue (and Hillary Clinton serenaded some undecided voters with Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me in the cold open), Saturday Night Live ran a fake trailer for a horror movie called...The Day Beyonce Turned Black (rated NC-17 for white people and G for everyone else).

Thus began a sketch that spoofed some of the outrage that followed the release of Beyonce's unapologetically black music video, Formation, and her downright domination of the Super Bowl halftime show last Sunday.

“For white people, it was just another great week,” we hear in serious movie voiceover, as Americans go about their daily lives. “They never saw it coming. They had no warning. Then, the day before the Super Bowl, it happened.” Beyonce embraces her black heritage.

PANIC.

"Maybe this song...isn't for us?" wonders Bobby Moynihan's character.
