FD: 1 killed, 4 displaced after 2 mobile homes catch fire in Mesa

Rural Metro firefighters were called to the home near University Drive and Loop 202 around 5:45 p.m.

MESA, Ariz. — One person is dead and four others are displaced after two mobile homes caught fire in Mesa on Monday evening, authorities said. 

Rural Metro firefighters were called to the scene near University Drive and Loop 202 around 5:45 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found two mobile homes fully engulfed in flames. With help from Mesa and Superstition firefighters, crews got control of the fire around 6:45 p.m.

Rural Metro said one person, who was reportedly disabled, died in the fire. No one else was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
