A woman and four kids are safe after escaping a burning home early Thursday in North Phoenix. The fire started around 2 a.m. at 41st and Northern avenues.
The fire department tells 12 News a child awoke to the smell of smoke and alerted the rest of the family. The cause of the fire is unknown and the fire is under investigation.
There are no injuries.
The family did managed to save their five dogs and a turtle.
