QUEEN VALLEY, Ariz. — A SET status has been issued for Queen Valley due to a wildfire. That means residents should be ready to evacuate if a GO status is issued.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said the fire, named the Whitlow Fire, is burning in the riparian area west of Hewitt Station Road near Comet Peak and Forest Road 3493.

Forest Road 357 is closed due to the fire.

The Tonto National Forest says the fire has burned around 100 acres as of 1 p.m. Saturday.

Crews from Mesa and Phoenix are responding to the fire.

The fire will also be targeted from the air.

"Type 1 helo & air tankers on order," said in a post to X (formerly Twitter).

This is a developing story; additional details will be added when they are available.
