BLACK CANYON CITY, Ariz. — There's another issue for drivers heading out of the Valley to northern Arizona for Labor Day weekend as crews are now battling a brush fire just north of Black Canyon City.

Crews are currently fighting a brush fire on the east side of Interstate 17, near Bumble Bee Road, according to a post from Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical on Facebook.

Crews are currently unable to reach the fire due to access issues but are monitoring it.

The Bureau of Land Management is also sending resources to fight the fire.

The department says the fire could cause delays for drivers and they are urging drivers to drive safely in the area.

This comes just hours after a disabled vehicle on I-17 caused a backup that stretched from Black Canyon City into Anthem.

The size and cause of the fire have not yet been announced.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.

Firefighters are on scene of a working brush fire near I-17 and Bumble Bee Rd (east of the freeway). Please drive safely and expect possible delays in traffic.
