PAYSON, Ariz. — Fire crews are currently fighting the West Fire, burning 13 miles north-northwest of Payson since Wednesday, Aug. 28.

- Tonto National Forest has closed the land surrounding the fire, including the Pine Trailhead
How many acres has it burned?
The West Fire has burned 15,074 acres and is 72% contained as of Sept. 29, fire officials said.
