AVONDALE, Ariz. — Crews fought a brush fire in the Agua Fria River bottom in Avondale on Friday night. The fire has been contained as of Saturday morning, authorities said.
The fire was on the north side of Interstate 10, near the Dysart Road exit. Avondale fire said they and other departments were called to the fire at 8:10 p.m.
When crews got to the scene the fire was only 100 feet by 100 feet, but video from Sky12 shows that the fire grew quickly.
The department said the fire was in a difficult area to access and was burning slowly. No structures were threatened and no one has been hurt.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
