PHOENIX — A woman and several pets were rescued from a Phoenix business after a fire broke out inside, city fire officials confirmed.
The cause of the fire, which started around 3:23 a.m. near Bethany Home Road and 27th Avenue, is still under investigation.
12News reporter Troy Lynch spoke with the woman after firefighters rescued her from inside. She told us that she was the owner of the store and had been living inside when the fire started.
Firefighters were able to stop the blaze before it spread to nearby businesses or damaged the structure, but it appears that the contents of the store are a total loss.
Firefighters said that five dogs and multiple birds were rescued from inside.
