PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a crash in north Phoenix led to the death of a woman Tuesday evening.

According to Phoenix police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near 35th and Grovers avenues.

The woman, identified as 48-year-old Abagail Lopez Moreno, was riding in a vehicle turning left onto Grovers Avenue. During the turn, the vehicle she was in was struck by another going south on 35th Avenue, police said.

First responders rushed Lopez Moreno to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police don't believe that impairment was a factor in the crash, but are waiting for a full reconstruction of the accident before recommending charges.

The investigation is still underway.
