A vigil for Crystal Hillman, 20, is planned for Saturday night near the scene where her body was found by officers of the Phoenix Police department, according the victim's cousin.

Ayesha Smith posted details for the memorial in a public Facebook post asking anyone who wants to attend to bring a candle and to decorate it with memories of Hillman

The Facebook post says the candle light for Crystal Hillman will start at 7 p.m. at 1515 W. Missouri Avenue in Phoenix.

According to police, two days after Christmas, they received reports of body on a couch inside the apartment of Anitra Braxton, 39, near 15th and Missouri avenues. Hillman's body was covered with a towel. Investigators said her body likely has been on the couch for days and that the shooting likely occurred Christmas Eve.

Detectives were not able to identify the body at first, eventually using dental records to find out it was that of the 20-year-old woman who family members describe as intelligent.

Family members say they suspected something was wrong when they didn't hear from Hillman on Christmas.
