GLENDALE, Ariz. — A driver and the three children in his truck were hurt after crashing Thursday morning into a nearby child care center, Glendale police said.
The crash happened at 51st and Northern avenues at about 8 a.m. when the 32-year-old driver struck another truck making a left turn across the roadway, police said.

He then reportedly lost control of the vehicle and went over the curb into the corner of the nearby American Child Care Center. Helicopter footage showed damage to an external column of the building.
Fifteen children and five adults were in the building at the time of the crash, but police said none of them were hurt. Everyone inside was temporarily relocated while inspectors checked the safety of the building. It was determined that only the façade was damaged.
The 32-year-old driver and three kids, ages 5, 8 and 10, in the truck with him were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 79-year-old man driving the second truck reportedly stayed on scene "for several minutes" before driving away. Officers later found him and he wasn't hurt, police said.
"At this time there will be no criminal traffic violations, but there may be civil traffic violations issued once the investigation is completed," police said.
