Valley woman finds rattlesnake in her car

A Diamondback rattlesnake found the perfect place to warm up in Phoenix.

PHOENIX — There are few things scarier than finding something in the back of your car that isn't supposed to be there. Milan Watt would know — she found a diamondback rattlesnake in the back of her car.

After a closing shift at work, Watt was headed to her car to grab her gym bag and meet her boyfriend for a workout. She wasn't planning on seeing a 2 1/2-foot-long snake next to her gym bag.

"It was just chillin' in the back and I just kind of lost my mind," Watt said.

Norris grabbed a stick and used the stick to fling the snake out of the car, Watt said. The pair then started slowly taking everything out of the car to check if the snake had any friends hanging out with it.

"My boyfriend.... he honestly was the hero of the story," Watt said. "He really did the work and took everything under control himself to help me get out of that situation."

"It was definitely a very shocking, scary situation," Watt said.

Watt spoke with a few mechanics who all said they were unsure how a snake of that size could have gotten into her car. After she shared her story on social media, people even wondered if someone had placed the animal in her car.

"The scariest part is just not knowing what I could have done to have prevented it or if there was something I could have done to prevent it," Watt said.

Since she found the snake in her car, Watt said she has checked her backseats every day, just in case.
