Trailer containing $50K worth of dog agility equipment stolen from East Valley storage facility

A trailer full of equipment belonging to Good Dog Agility was recently stolen in the East Valley.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Chandler nonprofit specializing in dog agility is looking for a way to move forward after a trailer containing $50,000 worth of equipment was stolen in the Gilbert area.

Good Dog Agility offers courses on training dogs to participate in obstacle competitions. The organization is typically busy this time of year with

Manager Gregor Carr said he discovered on Jan. 10 that Good Dog's large white trailer had been stolen out of an East Valley storage facility near Baseline and McQueen roads. 

Carr, who has been teaching and competing with the organization for 18 years, said the theft has caused a major pause in their operations and upcoming events.

“We're probably not going to be able to get do the one at the end of February because basically this trailer had all of the equipment, everything that necessary for the trials, you know... not only the agility equipment, with all the support stuff, the fencing for around the rings, the timing equipment, all of our award ribbons, everything associated with with running the dog agility trial,” Carr said.

The storage facility declined to comment about the theft.

Good Dog Agility has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to replace the stolen equipment.
