FD: Toddler hospitalized after 'medical emergency' at Phoenix home

Phoenix firefighters were called to the home near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road around 1 p.m.

PHOENIX — Editors note: Phoenix Fire initially reported this as an "electrocution incident" but later clarified it was a medical emergency. 

A toddler was rushed to the hospital after a "medical emergency" at a home in Phoenix on Monday afternoon.

Phoenix firefighters were called to the home near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road around 1 p.m.

Firefighters originally told 12News the toddler sustained an electrocution injury and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. They later clarified to say it was a "medical emergency."

Firefighters said a Crisis Response Unit is assisting the family during this difficult time.
