Toddler bitten by rattlesnake on Scottsdale hiking trail

A 3-year-old boy was bitten by a rattlesnake Thursday morning on the Granite Mountain trail.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A toddler is recovering Thursday after he was bit by a rattlesnake on a Scottsdale hiking trail.

The 3-year-old boy was bitten on the leg while out on the Granite Mountain trail, the Scottsdale Fire Department said.

As crews arrived on the scene, the child’s grandfather was coming off the trail with the boy in his arms, Scottsdale fire said. The boy is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to officials.

Officials did not initially release the identity of the child. This is a developing story.
