SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Patrons interested in obtaining a refund after issues surfaced during the recent WM Phoenix Open tournament have until March 31 to submit a request.
More than 2,600 refund requests have already been submitted after the "rough week" that transpired in Scottsdale during the annual golf event last month.
Scottsdale police reported making 54 arrests and 211 ejections. Several golfers complained about rowdy attendees heckling them. And some guests could be seen making impromptu slip-n-slides in the mud.
The chaos resulted in organizers closing the front gate and halting alcohol sales. Because of the closure, customers with tickets were turned away from the event.
Tournament officials issued an apology and promised to make improvements before next year's Phoenix Open.
Anyone who is still interested in requesting a refund can send an email to orders@wmphoenixopen.com.
