PHOENIX — The east side of levels one through three at Sky Harbor Airport’s Terminal 4 were temporarily evacuated Tuesday as police investigated an item as a precaution.
Security checkpoints B, C and D are in the process of being reopened, airport officials say.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, a piece of luggage passing through one of the checkpoints was deemed suspicious around 3:15 p.m. Officers and bomb squad detectives examined the bag and the scene was cleared around 4:30 p.m.
All roadways have reopened, and the PHX Sky Train is resuming operations at the terminal.
