TEMPE, Ariz. — The Tempe Police Department has arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash on April 1.
Tempe police responded to the area of Broadway and Terrace roads around 8:20 p.m. after a pedestrian crossing Broadway Road was hit by a vehicle traveling east. Police said the vehicle stopped momentarily but then left the scene.
Court records show the victim sustained "life-threatening injuries" and was taken to the hospital.
Tempe police said that 55-year-old Gabriel Villa García was arrested on April 13 for allegedly being involved in the crash. Records show the suspect allegedly repainted his vehicle and fixed the windshield shortly after the crash.
He's facing charges of failing to remain at the scene of a crash, failing to render aid, and tampering with evidence.
