Teens assaulted after 'ding-dong ditch' prank

A 13-year-old boy wound up in the hospital after 22-year-old Johnathan Larocque allegedly beat him for playing a neighborhood prank.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. - A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault against a minor after allegedly beating two teenage boys for playing a prank on his home.

A photograph on a GoFundMe page verified by a family friend shows one of the teens with a busted lip and a swollen nose.

"My son and two of the boys came frantically running into my home and told us what they did," said Melissa Moore, who lives up the street from the home where Larocque resides.

The woman said a group of six boys were at her home for her son's 14th birthday celebration and were gone for about 15 minutes before some of the boys came running back into the house.

"And as they were walking out (of the bushes), this man came running out and was screaming," Moore said.

A police report obtained by 12 News states Larocque punched one boy in the head and then chased down another teen and also punching him in the head.

The man claims he saw the teens around his girlfriend's car, which prompted him to go outside.

"My husband was first on the scene," Moore said. "He drove down and he found one little injured boy in the middle of the road, roaming the street. He didn't know where he was. He had a concussion."

Larocque is due back in court on May 14.
